Located in the city center of Newcastle, UK, this student apartment is situated in one of the most prosperous cities in England. As the project site was once a glass manufacturing factory, architects needed to comply with local design requirements and adopt specially treated bricks for the building exterior walls to achieve the effect of traditional brick wall structures, maintaining harmony with the industrial historical background.
As the modular supplier for this project, CIMC Modular Building utilized innovative technologies and flexible designs to tailor a modern student apartment that is reasonably laid out, fully equipped and comfortably appointed specifically for local university students. The 5-storey building consists of 115 modular units, forming 191 finely decorated rooms. The apartment offers 3 different room types, including 15-square-meter standard rooms, 20-square-meter single rooms, and spacious 30-square-meter accessible rooms. To meet students' daily living needs, the apartment is also designed with communal lounges and public kitchen areas.
Thanks to the inherent high-strength structure of each modular unit, the products of CIMC Modular Building can not only support all types of building exterior walls but also accommodate external hung windows, maximizing the integrity and aesthetics of the architectural design.
